A smile at the end of every change
By the second month a baby's early expressions begin to turn into genuine signals of pleasure and friendliness, and the more engaged they are with you and your smiles, the more that engagement carries. A nappy change happens often enough that a smile parked at the end of it arrives several times a day without anyone having to remember it.
