The toy that follows you

Pulling a toy behind them while walking asks for something a straight walk never does — going forward while attending to something behind, and feeling a small steady tug the whole way. The toy is doing the teaching; a shoe on a ribbon works exactly as well as anything bought.
🧺 You need
- a pull-along toy, or a light box or shoe on a ribbon under 20 cm
🛡️ Keep the cord short — under about 20 cm — so it cannot loop a neck or a wrist, and take it away when the game ends rather than leaving it out. Never a cord long enough to trip the child behind them, and never around a pram or a cot.
