A slow lap of the flat
Carrying your baby and playing with them in different positions is one of the sensory experiences of these first months, and many babies find gentle, slow movement soothing. A lap of your own flat, walked slowly, turns the whole place past them without asking anything of them at all.

๐ก๏ธ One hand stays under the head and neck for the whole lap โ a young neck has no warning of a turn. Walk, never bounce, jog or jolt, and never spin. Stairs are not part of this: you will be watching their face, not your feet. Arching, stiffening or fussing ends the lap wherever you happen to be standing.
