A push toy lets a new walker practise with some support still under them, and loading a favourite passenger in for the ride turns the walk into an errand worth taking. Carrying something while on the move is exactly the kind of doing this stage is built for.
🧺 You need
- a sturdy push toy, laundry basket, or box
- 2-3 small toys or household items to carry as cargo
🛡️ Whatever they push must be sturdy enough to lean on without sliding or tipping — test it yourself before handing it over. Keep the route clear of cords, stairs and low furniture edges, and stay within arm's reach; a loaded push toy can outrun a still-wobbly walker.
