Kicking a ball looks like a leg movement and is really a balance one: to swing one foot, the whole body has to hold itself up on the other. That is why it arrives well after walking, and why a stationary ball and something to hold on to make the difference between a kick and a sit-down.

๐Ÿงบ You need

  • one large light ball, or a balloon for indoors

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ A large light ball, never a hard or heavy one, and never a balloon left unsupervised โ€” a burst balloon is one of the worst choking hazards there is, so it goes away the moment the game ends or it pops. Outdoors, keep well back from any road or drive.

The first kick

Put the ball still, right at their toes

A rolling ball is a much harder target. Set it on the floor touching their foot and let it stay there.
