Per the AAP, you cannot spoil a young baby with attention — answer their calls for help and they cry less overall. Supporting them even at their most difficult is how they learn they can trust and rely on you.

none

🛡️ If the crying becomes more than you can hold — and some nights it will — it is completely safe to put baby down on their back in the cot and step out for a few minutes. A baby crying in a safe place is fine; a baby who gets shaken or jolted, even once, is not. Go back when your own breathing has slowed.

Go when they call

Treat cries and fusses as communication, not manipulation — when baby calls, go.
