By around three months, eyes are learning to hold on faces and close objects and to follow something that moves, and at this age they focus best on things about 8 to 15 inches away. So this one stays close, stays slow, and travels the other way — upwards.

🛡️ Nothing passes directly over their face, and nothing dangles above it. Keep your own face far enough back that they can hold all of it in view at once, and stop at a turn away rather than finishing the trip.
