Warm cup, cool cup
Touch tells your toddler about more than shape and softness — the same skin that notices rough and smooth also notices warm and cool, so a cup of each is a whole sensory experience by itself, no toy required. Every new round like this becomes part of the groundwork for the movement, communication and emotional growth still ahead of them.
🧺 You need
- two unbreakable cups
- a small lidded container
- a towel or bath mat underneath
- warm water
- cool water
🛡️ Stay at arm's reach for the whole game — even a shallow cup is a real risk at this age, so this is a stay-and-watch activity, never a leave-them-with-a-cup one. Check both temperatures yourself first: comfortably warm, never hot, and cool, never icy. Keep a towel underfoot in case anything splashes onto a slippery floor.
