Three minutes of dancing

⏱️ 3 min📦 nothing needed🏠 indoor🤲 on the move👐 Sensory💛 Social-emotional

Toddlers need around 180 minutes of activity a day, and it does not have to arrive in one piece — ten or twenty minutes here and there all counts. Dancing is the cheapest instalment there is, needs no space and no equipment, and feeds balance and body awareness at the same time.

🧺 You need

none — whatever music you already have

🛡️ Clear the floor of anything to trip over and keep well away from table corners — dancing means unpredictable direction. Keep the volume low; a toddler's hearing is more sensitive than an adult's and they cannot move away from it.

Three minutes of dancing

One song, not a playlist

Three minutes is a complete session. A playlist turns a burst of movement into an event that has to be managed.
