Skin-to-skin recharge
Skin-to-skin holding can promote bonding and the release of feel-good hormones, and can help regulate your baby's body temperature and heart rate. For babies born small or early, the WHO advises it starting immediately after birth.
๐งบ You need
- blanket
๐ก๏ธ Positioning is the whole safety of this one: baby's face turned to one side and always visible, nose and mouth uncovered, chin off their chest so the airway stays open, blanket over their back and never over their head. And the honest part โ if you feel yourself drifting off, move baby onto their back on a firm flat surface first. A chest, a sofa or an armchair is not a safe place for either of you to fall asleep.
