A path across the floor

⏱️ 10 min📦 things you have🏠 indoor🤲 on the move🤸 Motor

Stepping over a rolled towel and up onto a cushion asks a walker to lift a foot higher than walking needs and to put it down somewhere they chose — the same up-and-over the furniture climbing needs, at a height where getting it wrong costs nothing. A floor path lets that get repeated a dozen times in a way a sofa never can.

🧺 You need

  • two or three cushions or folded towels
  • a rolled blanket to step over

🛡️ Everything on the path stays soft and low, and nothing may slide — put towels and cushions on carpet, or under a rug corner, never on a bare polished floor. Stay alongside; this is a walking activity, so the falls happen forwards.

A path across the floor

Lay out three obstacles, ankle high

A rolled towel to step over, a cushion to step onto, a folded blanket to walk along. Ankle height is plenty.
