How

Hold baby against you and read a few pages aloud daily — a board book, a poem, even your novel. Let them hear the rhythm and feel your chest hum. Stop when attention fades; thirty seconds still counts.

Why this matters

The AAP recommends reading aloud from birth: it concentrates language exposure, pairs words with closeness and calm, and builds a daily ritual that compounds for years. At 0–3 months the payload is prosody + bonding, not plot.
