Texture tour on the changing table

You need

3–4 safe fabric scraps (cotton, fleece, satin, muslin)

How

After a diaper change, brush each fabric slowly over baby's arms, legs and palms. Name each one as you go ("this is soft fleece…"). Watch which textures make baby still or wiggle — that reaction is them processing.

Why this matters

Touch is the most mature sense at birth. Varied, gentle tactile input builds the somatosensory pathways that later support grasping and body awareness.
