3โ4 safe fabric scraps (cotton, fleece, satin, muslin)

After a diaper change, brush each fabric slowly over baby's arms, legs and palms. Name each one as you go ("this is soft fleeceโฆ"). Watch which textures make baby still or wiggle โ that reaction is them processing.

Touch is the most mature sense at birth. Varied, gentle tactile input builds the somatosensory pathways that later support grasping and body awareness.
